What we say: The Forum has been completely resuscitated. Over the past few weeks and months, adidas has launched some new general-release colourways of the classic silhouette, while also featuring some highly sought-after collaborations with Bad Bunny, atmos and soon to be Jeremy Scott.
Originally designed as a basketball shoe, the 80s court model now changes its sport, as the brand with the Three Stripes presents the very first Forum designed for skateboarding. adidas worked with pro team rider Diego Nájera during the Forum 84 ADV design process, not only to ensure the sneaker is fully skateable, but also to implement touches that point to his hometown. from Los Angeles.
Inspired by Nájera’s love for car customization and tuner culture, the skate-ready Forum comes equipped with custom details such as a removable Velcro strap, ice blue accents and translucent panels, and the skater’s signature applied to the bottom of the outsole. To achieve extended stability, breathability and durability for shredding, the shoe features high-quality construction with a premium grain leather upper, suede eyelets, mesh back stripes and a box aged leather toe cap.
adidas points out that this is not only the first forum designed specifically for skateboarding, but also possibly the only iteration of the 1980s classic to come from the adidas Skateboarding category. In truth, only time will tell if we’ll have another skateable forum.
