Amazon Prime Day 2022: the most anticipated offers

0

Amazon Prime Day usually takes place over the summer – although 2020’s event was delayed until October due to the pandemic, 2021’s took place last June. If you’re wondering what this means for the retailer’s biggest sales event this year, you’re not alone. Of course, it’s never too early to start preparing and writing your wish list for the big sale.

Read on for what we know about Prime Day 2022 so far, and everything you can do now to make sure you’re ready when prices finally drop.

What is the first day?

Prime Day is Amazon’s annual sales event exclusively for Prime members. It usually offers one or two days of special savings on thousands of items across all product categories.

When is Prime Day 2022?

Amazon has yet to announce specific dates for Prime Day, though there’s a good chance Amazon will revert to its usual July date for this year’s event. Last year, Prime Day lasted two days, and it’s likely that this year’s event will also last two days.

For the past few years, Prime Day took place in July, but the sale was delayed in 2020 due to the pandemic, taking place in October instead. In 2021, Prime Day took place at the end of June, returning to its usual summer schedule.

How to prepare for Prime Day

First, make sure you have an Amazon Prime membership. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial here, after which your subscription will cost $14.99 per month or $139 per year (price increased last February from $12.99 per month and $119 per year) . Along with fast and free two-day shipping, you’ll also get access to Prime Video ad-free music streaming, unlimited photo storage, and unlimited playback. Many of the best Prime Day deals, including Lightning deals (we’ll get to that in a second), are only available to Prime members.

Once your membership is over, you should also take the time to ensure that your payment methods, including 1-click settings and default delivery, are up to date so that you can get the offers you want in a timely manner. .

What are the best Prime Day sales?

Amazon hasn’t officially announced any specific deals, but over the past year we’ve seen savings ranging from electronics and major appliances to small household items.

We expect similar products to go on sale this year. Look for deals on Amazon devices, including Fire tablets and TV stream sticks, Echo smart speakers, and Kindles. There might also be some deals on Apple products; smart TVs; games and toys; smart home products, including home security and smart lights; vacuum cleaners, including Dyson and Roomba; Instant Pots and other kitchen essentials; and clothing from top brands like Adidas and Calvin Klein, to name a few categories.

Retailers with competing sales on Prime Day

Remember: Amazon Prime Day isn’t the only big sale to watch out for. Other major retailers, including Walmart and Target, will likely hold their own competing sales events, though these have yet to be announced.

How to find the best Prime Day deals

You’ll want to bookmark the Amazon deals page, where all items included in the sale should appear. Be sure to check in early and often on the big day; Prime Day deals are known to sell out quickly, and new deals will likely be added throughout the sale.

You’ll also find Amazon’s famous Lightning deals on the aforementioned page (you can filter your view to only see Lightning deals using the panel on the left side of the page).

Finally, be sure to follow CNN Underscored on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and check our site often. On Amazon Prime Day (and every other day of the year), we’ll highlight the best 24-hour deals you won’t want to miss.
