Sporting Kansas City will kick off the team’s highly anticipated 2022 season at 2:00 p.m. CT today against Atlanta United FC and, to celebrate the start of the new MLS campaign, the club will host a State Line Block Party presented by Michelob Ultra and adidas.
Covering two blocks of Kansas City in the heart of West 39th Street between Genessee Street and Terrace Street, the fan event will be free and open to the public for attendees of all ages. Festivities are set to begin at 11:00 a.m. CT – including live music, garden games and drink specials – and the watch party will include a large LED screen to watch the TV season opener scale. Sporting Kansas City National Live at 2 p.m. CT.
Parking for this event will be very limited. Participants are strongly encouraged to carpool or use a ridesharing service. The parking lots in the area are not available for use by event attendees. Lots will be monitored and offenders will be towed. Street parking will also be limited.

Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the streets at any time in accordance with state and municipal regulations. Food and beverages will be available at restaurants, shops and bars in the area. All local restaurants and bars in the area will be showing the game and the majority will be offering special food and drink for this event.
Entrances are located at West 39th Street and Genessee Street as well as West 39th Street and Wyoming Street. Click here for directions. Fans are requested to have their SeatGeek Tickets ready when entering the event. All attendees will receive a wristband upon entry and re-entry into the event will be permitted with a wristband.
11 a.m.: The neighborhood party begins with DJ Hydan on stage
12 p.m.: Crossroad Sound takes the stage
1:50 p.m.: Fan rally led by Nate Bukaty
2 p.m.: Sporting KC vs. Atlanta United FC
5 p.m.: End of the Block Party
Fans will be able to watch ATLvSKC on a large LED screen located across the street at West 39th Street and Terrance Street. Fans will also be able to watch the match at bars and restaurants in the area, but seating is limited. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.
All participants who complete the State Line Block Party Passport will win a prize. Collect the Passport at the Sporting KC table and stop at each business on the Passport to receive offers or discounts. Once the passport is completed, proceed to the Sporting KC table to claim the prize.
